I’m so glad I chose to do my training with The OBC. I have gained a depth of knowledge and understanding of birth and birthwork that far exceeded my expectations. It’s been fun, it’s been stimulating, it’s been challenging. I’ve felt supported in my learning and development throughout. The OBC community of birth workers will continue to be a source of inspiration and encouragement, which is so important to me stepping into self-employment for the first time.

Now that I’m putting the skills I gained into practice I am realising just how expansive the course is and how well prepared we are for the work. I'll forever be grateful to Alex and her team. They have enriched my life immeasurably. To anyone considering taking the leap I’d say just go for it. My only regret is that I didn’t start sooner!” (Lydia 2023)

Scholarships and partial scholarships

We offer partial scholarships for our doula training programmes to ensure accessibility to the The OBC Birth Worker Training course.

We are particularly keen to make these available to those communities under represented in birth work - ethnic minorities, LGBTQ+ community and disabled people. Please contact us if you have questions about your eligibility.

Partial scholarships are available for every doula training course and costs £1300 a year which can be paid over 8 equal monthly instalments and is available to those on low incomes, in receipt of means tested benefits, or currently unemployed.

There is an application form to complete and then partial scholarships are considered on their individual merits and a first come, first served basis.
