Wrap Around Support

Continuity of intelligent support and care throughout your pregnancy, birth and postpartum to ensure you can birth autonomously, in your power

“Alex was such a gift to us during the birthing of our fourth son, at home in a pool. In the months before the birth she was there to meet up with and talk through any concerns, which was a great comfort, and she was an invaluable member of our support team during it, working seamlessly with the midwifery team. It was an amazing birth, made the smoother because of Alex's lovely presence and assistance..”

Birthing with a doula

birth keeper

Every birth is unique as you are. Whether this is your first pregnancy, or you ninth, having a birth keeper will enable you to feel truly supported in your choices and informed decisions.

I support your right to birth unassisted or with the support of health care professionals and engage with maternity services as much, or as little, as you feel is helpful to you and your pregnancy/ birth.

I will use my knowledge and experience to help you have a positive, physiological birth experience. I do not undertake anything clinical or medical. I provide holistic physical and emotional support, and advocate for your needs and those of your baby.

I will use my extensive experience to support you to birth with confidence. You'll feel reassured that your choices are respected, whether you are birthing for the first time or are seeking something different after a previously difficult birthing journey.

I tend to work primarily with people who have had difficult previous birth experiences and would prefer to have a birth that involves less medical intervention. This process requires that you are willing to trust yourself and your baby..

Although I won’t give medical advice as I’m not a medical professional, I will use my experience and understanding of how birth works to optimise your chances of having a birth without intervention.

“As a first time Mum I wanted to have a doula so that I could feel as informed and supported as possible while having my baby. I couldn’t feel happier with my decision and Alex provided everything I hoped for. The preparation sessions were so helpful and informative that I felt ready for anything when the big day came. When I went into labour Alex came to the house and stopped us from making the rookie error of going to the hospital too early which we were so grateful for. During the rest of day (and into the night!) she was there as a support for me and my husband, a trusted friendly face equipped with a great deal of knowledge, so even when there were a few unexpected twists and turns in the process, I felt safe and positive. Would definitely recommend Alex as a birth keeper to support any Mum-to-be.” - Izzy
